I just wanted to share a quick update about my dad, as Im still getting several messages of concern and care. We travel back and forth to the hospital everyday to be with him and surround him with love, hope and healing. He is doing much better, the surgery to replace and repair his skin seems to have been successful but he still has a couple to go. It is going to be a long, tough journey but we intend to be with him every step of the way and hope that in some small way that makes it a little easier for him. They are doing hydro therapy to keep his skin cleaned and healthy. He says its really painful but thankfully they have increased his pain meds so that he doesnt suffer through it. He remains happy and upbeat, not really knowing exactly what happened to land him in the hospital. He told me that he had a dream that he and I were fighting out way through the fires of hell. I figure that was an indication or slight memory of the fire and me getting the fire out before the paramedics arrived to take him to hospital. Of course he remembers things from thirty years ago as if it was yesterday but the events of any particular day elude him. I just keep reminding him of all the care and concern for him and the fact that so many people are pulling for his recovery. I think right now we are in the best place we could hope for given everything that he has been through in the last five or so years. We continue to fight for recovery and appreciate every effort that everyone makes to reach out to us to remind us that we too are surrounded by love and are not alone in this struggle to recovery.
