I just wanted to share my experience with chicken pox. This picture is my 10 month old baby with what looks like a VERY BAD case, but which she healed 100% from (shes now 14, on the right in the 2nd photo). I have 5 children. We never vaccinated against CP. Two of my children were exposed, got a mild case and shared it with another two. The second set had a much more severe case of CP, but it was really NO BIG DEAL. A couple of days out of action, and now they are good for life. My oldest never obviously got CP (nor did I as a child) so we are assuming we both have a natural immunity. I can see no reason to vaccinate against this rather benign childhood illness. My mom recently had a varicella vaccine and then… she came down with shingles. The connection is uncanny.
