I just wanted to share something for anyone who has ears to hear. There is a famine of the hearing of the words of the Lord, (Amos 8:11) these days. The famine, mind you, is not just a famine of the preaching of the word, but a famine of hearing it. Spiritual things are spiritually discerned and those who do not have ears to hear, simply cannot receive the things of the Spirit when presented with them. After demonstrating disdain for the word of the Lord, whether preached or prophesied, the hearers become spiritually deaf, unable to hear what the Lord is saying! The word of the Lord was readily available and abundant during the time of the prophesies of Amos. The problem was, it was not being received. So, because the people of God despised the word of the Lord, the prophesy of judgment was then given. The day is coming, cried Amos, when the land will be plagued by a famine of the hearing of the word of the Lord! It is important to keep in mind that this famine was not sent by the enemy! It was not the devil who sent the famine. God sent the famine!!! Much like God will send the strong delusion to those who received not the love of the truth after the truth had been given to them and rejected (2 Thess. 2:11). The prophets of old were often despised and killed. They made people uncomfortable. Challenged the status quo. Went against the tide of the spiritually dead religious establishment. The people loved when the prophets prophesied peace in Jeremiahs day! The prophets prophesy falsely, And the priests rule by their own power; and My people love to have it so. But what will you do in the end? (Jer. 5:31). Sounds an awful lot like those who do refuse sound doctrine and heap up for themselves false teachers to satisfy their itchy ears! Oh, we love false prophets. They are often in high demand because they tell us things that are appealing to our flesh and ego. However, the Jeremiahs who dare speak unpopular truths, are not so warmly received. What kind of prophesy are we hearing? Are our ears still tuned to the word of the Lord? Will we be swept away by a strong delusion? Does the truth offend you? Do you cringe at the sound of correction? There is are several teachings that have been gaining influence in the Church over the past several years. The Law of Attraction is one of them. Do you have ears to hear the truth about this concept? Dare I say, that the Law of Attraction is a New Thought aka NEW AGE doctrine? Dare I say, that those who teach such pagan concepts are teaching witchcraft, and dressing it up in biblical terms does not make it any less wicked? Dare I name people such as Cindy Trimm and Pierce Sheets, who openly teach these New Age philosophies? Does that make you upset or angry? I pray it doesnt. At the risk of you not liking me :) I love you enough to tell you the truth. The truth is eastern metaphysics is not biblical faith and has no place in the Body of Christ. You dont have to believe me or agree with me, but I pray you hear the conviction of the Holy Spirit and know that what I have said is true. Do yourself a favor and just google The Law of Attraction and take note of all the New Age sources that come up, and honestly ask yourself, what fellowship does light have with darkness? Love and grace, Desi
