I just wanted to share this video with you. This was actually taken yesterday. In the video you see and hear Jordan talking. He is not wearing his speaking valve at the time but he has decided that he likes talking so much. He is sticking his finger in the end of his trach tubing so he can block the airflow and make noise. I love his problem solving skills! Such a smarty pants. Another awesome accommodation that Jordan does all on his own is with his hearing. As you know he normally has middle ear fluid even when PE tubes are in place. This fluid muffles the sounds that he hears. While playing, Jordan puts toys into his mouth and then plays the sound on those toys because he can hear better when he feels the vibrations. It is called occipital bone conduction hearing. Now I may be a little biased but this kid impresses me so much each day! So glad I get to be his mommy.
