I just wanted to share with everyone something I said to my daughter today, after she made a post that made me cry when I felt the pain in her words. Maybe something I said to her can help another as it did her tonight........ Baby girl, I love you! I know you didnt choose to be born. Your father and I chose you! You are the product of a deeply profound love. Has it been a perfect love/life? Absolutely not. There have been many, many bumps, pot holes, hell, even canyons along the way, but those hardships and trials are the very things that shape and mold you. The ability to overcome the obstacles life throws your way just builds a stronger you. Life isnt fair at times baby, its how you handle it that matters. You come from two families of strong willed characters! From Tecumseh on daddys side who fought to keep his peoples lands and way of life, to Lucretia Mott on mommys side who was a well known abolitionist and outspoken advocate for civil and womens rights! You are destined for greatness and that can only be achieved through pain, sweat, and tears! I cant promise you that life is going to be easy but I can promise you that it is worth it! You remind me so much of myself at your age its unreal. Take it from me sweetie, life sucks sometimes and its hard to find meaning, but thats the point. To constantly be finding things to give your life meaning. You can go through this life and just be, or you can find something youre passionate about and create and achieve those goals! My favorite saying and future tattoo sums it up quite well... Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass, its about learning to dance in the rain! You are loved and your existence has value to this world! ..... Remember, you can ALWAYS talk to me! I will NOT judge you. I might be upset with it, but I still listen and give the best advice that I can give..... Or go to jail for assaulting whoever hurt my baby!........... Talk to your children! They need to know they matter too and they never should fear a parent! Goodnight! Im gonna go cuddle my baby!
