I just wanted to thank everyone who is or has done the Ice bucket Challenge for ALS. As some of you know my husband recently died from ALS (May 30 2014) after being diagnosed for only 6 months. This fundraising campaign will help in the research and also help those who cannot afford the expensive medical equipment needed for this horrible disease. The Windsor ALS society helped us in so many ways (with a custom motorized wheelchair, a walker, hospital bed, suction pump, feeding machine and breathing machine,) Without their financial help there was not possible way for us to afford any of them. It is estimated that each ALS patient will need anywhere from $150,000 to $250,000 in medical equipment and medications. So thank you everyone who is helping to raise awareness for ALS! xxxxxx
