I just watched a great youtube video about combining weight training with bicycling. Great advice and I agree. I personally choose to either ride my road bike or run every week in addition to my weight training. Furthest I have ridden was 100 miles on my bike, and I have also ran a marathon and several half marathons and multiple shorter sprint triathlons. Cycling and running has allowed me to completely skip weight training in my legs because cycling targets my quads/glutes and running really hits the calves hard. I personally prefer short and fast running and cycling routes because of my genetics and build. On my weight training days, I go in twice per week to do strict form chest and bis on one day and back and tris on another day with abs mixed in as well. I designed this program for myself and it took a lot of trial and error but it works for me and Im 510 @ 200lbs.
