I just watched the Final Four semi-final game between Wisconsin and Kentucky. I have never, ever, heard such unprofessional commentary from a broadcasting crew in 60 years of following college sports. They disparaged any call the officials made against Kentucky, questioned every move the Wisconsin coach made, praised every shot Kentucky made and even said in plain English that they wanted Kentucky to win and were proud of being homers for the U of K. If the NCAA had any guts, theyd ban TBS from ever broadcasting another collegiate contest. The fact that the commentators made it extremely clear they were rooting for Kentucky was offensive to the University of Wisconsin, who had every right to expect commentators to be fair and unbiased in their reporting, as well as the viewing public who had tuned in to see a top notch basketball game, not a rally of the Kentucky Booster Club. It couldnt have been a worse performance of outright ignorance and prejudice in reporting if they had hired Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh to explain the benefits of the Affordable Care Act. I am disgusted with TBS, the NCAA, and the lack of common decency and fairness they both put on public display tonight.
