I just watched the entire 4+ hours of the movie Gettysburg. Great movie about that historic battle. During most war movies it is easy to pick sides and cheer for them. This was quite different. I have respect and sympathy for both sides of this tragic period in US history. I also read up on Robert E. Lee again. Lee was offered the leadership of the Union Army by Lincoln before the war began. I really admire this man. But.......casting Martin Sheen as Robert E.. Lee was a terrible mistake. Regardless of what my opinion of Sheen is as a person, he did a fricken AWFUL job of portraying Lee as an actor. A good movie was nearly spoiled by this casting and dreadful acting job. youtu.be/bTcaRk0ZRJ4
