I just woke up. Its a pit of darkness in my place. You know when you take a sheet or a blanket and you pin it up cause its 6am and you want to actually go to sleep, yeah I did that. Im insanely hungover but I think just more mentally exhausted. I dont even know what to think about last night. Its hard to put into words how good it felt to be inside Hush Nightclub. I missed Matts set but I arrived during Christophs and was blown away by the nostalgia that he was bringing back, track after track of classic electro house. Carson played such a perfect set of bass heavy, hip hop infused deep house and progressive, a house dj that is always on point, every time. Mykels set... where do I even begin? Easily the best set hes ever played, ever. Every mix was on point and the classics.. man, the classics, Dillon & Dickens.. Greece 2000, (which I NEEDED to explain that was the song that got me into electronic music when I was 15), old Axwell, Buzzy Bus.. Jumping around behind the decks with Jon Camilleri and Jeff Kotyk was so much fun, so much fun, cant even describe the happiness. Mikes set brought me to tears at one point and then man was it ever hard to stop after that. All the memories came back, jesus it felt like I was breaking up with the club or something. All the times Ive ever played there and its been the best dj sets of my life. Times of OH GREAT! Its Monday with my homie Wesley, classic club photos from Vladimir Velociraptor Vukmirovich. Remember when Miles Dyson headlined?! All the friends Ive made in Hush, all the crazy times, all the shots haha.. The first time I ever went into a bar it was Hush and it was The Freestylers in 2001, dark ragga breaks. Ive watched music CHANGE over the last 12, 13 years in that club, thats how long weve been going there. Weve seen genres hit high points then leave and man how GOOD is deep house now. Im really, really hungover and I realized that I have to go back tonight and grab my phone charger which is still plugged into the booth. Maybe Ill bring my camera and get a shot or two... Hush will always be my number one bar. Throwing down anywhere else will never compare to rocking a packed Hush Nightclub, its magic and will always be magical forever. As they say though, all good things come to an end and theres always new beginnings. I love you Hush, big time. Send David T some love as well.
