I keep getting invited to family functions and Christmas events where there is one vegetarian option at most if youre lucky and zero vegan options. Ive phoned a few places enquiring about Vegan options and the response has been negative so far. :-( There is nothing on their menus and a lot of places are saying no they dont have a vegan option and no they wont be offering one. When I phone places, someone will go and ask the chef and then come back and say no. Or they will say no outright without asking anyone. Sometimes if the manager is there they will ask the manager. People are getting annoyed with me by not going to stuff but they know I dont eat animal products and are putting pressure on me to conform. I get annoyed when I get treated like a second class citizen in restaurants because there is no decent options. And then they get angry if I dare to complain about it! And I get no support about it. Its like sorry, shes a Veggie. And I end up with something rubbish. No Thanks. There are a couple of more veggie friendly places around but thats not where my family and friends choose to go. And I am made to feel like the difficult one. Im not going. I mean if I phone beforehand and give plenty of notice and places still arent prepared to rustle something up because the chef cant do it then see ya later!
