I keep hearing and reading that Hamas, or the Palestinian Arabs in general, hate Israel because of the so-called occupation. I will leave the debate as to who rightfully owns the land, and if or how it should be divided to another thread. The point of this video, which was broadcast on Palestinian Authority television, is clear: They hate Israel and the Jewish people for simply being alive on the planet, not for some supposed occupation. So please stop saying that its all about Israel taking their land. They want me, and all of my people, dead because we do not share their beliefs. So where is the partner for peace, who will negotiate and compromise on the land issue in good faith, and not simply use any land they gain for further attacks on Israel? I am not trying to paint all Muslims with the same brush. I have met a number of Muslims who dont appear to feel this way, and I hope there are many more. But if this is even 10% or 15% of their society, how will this war ever end? And polls by neutral parties like Zogby suggest that the percent of Palestinian Arabs who believe this way is much higher than that. How could it not be, when the government sponsored TV continually feeds this type of thing to their population? FWIW, I am aware that the site which provided the translation is a pro-Israel site, but Hebrew and Arabic are close enough linguistically for me to follow a decent amount of this, and the translation seems accurate. Feel free to check with someone who speaks Arabic if you doubt me.
