I keep hearing people express why ferguson is getting so much attention because a white cop killed a black kid.....and why doesnt the black leaders focus on the 90% of blacks killing blacks in Chicago. The reason i believe ferguson is getting so much attention is yes, a white cop killed a black, unharmed kid, but its because it was authority, a police officer killing a kid...and people want accountability and justice!!! In Chicago, when blacks kill blacks, whites kill whites, at least there are arrests made, search warrants, etc. Justice is served!!! People go to prison, there are arrests....In Fergusan, there wasnt accountability, there wasnt arrests being made. This demands attention, this demands protests!!! This is why I believe the black leaders in the community have come out and voiced their opinions and support!!!! They needed too!!! There was zero accountability!!!!! A man in a position of power, used his position of authority, and killed an unarmed man. Regardless if he was attacked physically, verbally, his job is to protect and serve, not kill....there was a confrontation, why did it escalate to the point where there was a physical altercation? The cop is suppose to maintain the peace, not start trouble/violence. The police officers job is to protect, to safeguard, to protect the innocent, to maintain civil order. Regardless of somebody is in their face, dissing their mother, their kids, their wife, whatever, their job is to protect the weak, protect the innocent, etc. They cant use their personal feelings, regardless of how bad people get in their face. Its their job to keep people safe!!!! If you cant keep personal feelings personal, you shouldnt have become a cop. In Ferguson, their was a unarmed kid, shot 6 times. If the FBI, the federal govt. didnt get involved, if there wasnt social media (videos, etc), their wouldnt have been an investigation. When somebody, especially a unarmed man is shot a total of 6 times, there HAS to be an investigation!!!! There was deviation (not following police protocol)....so that, in my opinion, is the reason why there is so much attention on this case, which is deservedly so!!!! I hope Justice is served here!!! After serving on a grand jury for 1.5 years, I can imagine the intense discussions going on in the jury room. Thanks Jon
