I keep hearing people say that Common Core has to go. They will often site a worksheet on the internet and claim it is common core. It can be a bad worksheet. Find out for yourself - here is a link to Common Core. Our youngest is a senior in high school. We have been through the lattice method of math...I cant even explain that method! And I may not agree with the methods use to teach your kids...it doesnt mean it was common core. just read the standard and decide for yourself. And get (or make) flashcards and teach the kids to do math at home if you are not satisfied with your schools methods. 2x2= 4 even if they dont do times tables at school anymore, doesnt mean that you cant supplement their learning at home.
