I keep hearing that its only the extremists who are the terrorists, and that I should tolerate and respect members of that community who are largely benign. But why dont I ever see prominent leaders of that community in front of cameras condemning these monstrous acts and distancing and distinguishing themselves as better than that? We must demand that leaders in that community stand up and speak out against their brothers. Im talking about the police. We are a tolerant nation, but we also value democracy and freedom. We will not tolerate police extremism, police terrorism, and police violence. Its time we demand that our police department actively take a role in reform by monitoring the private meetings that occur among their members and promptly report anyone espousing an ideology of violence or terror against American citizens.
