I keep hearing the utter nonsense that Alistair Darling won the TV Debate. Having watched it back several times it is clear that Alex Salmond was uncomfortable with the repetitive style of questioning from Alistair Darling and the way in which Alistair Darling repeatedly talked over him. Yes the First Minister was uncomfortable but the leader of the No Campaign was by comparison petrified when given a taste of his own medicine by Bernard Ponsonby on the guaranteed extra powers if we vote No. William Hill have since revealed that punters are overwhelmingly backing a Yes vote by putting their money where their mouth is. Yet the Unionists and their dutiful media insist that it is the other way around. They may eventually believe their own lies if they tell them enough but the rest of us wont.
