I keep hearing this phrase its what the market wants so its okay for me that is sacrilegious. We are supposed to be the eye openers, the shape shifters, the pace setters for the society. We are to give the consumers exhausted options so that they can make informed decisions. Since when did we start letting consumers dictate for us the market. We have become prey to this because we lack knowledge on so many things even simple background research is an issue. The developed capital markets are the ones that dictate what directions consumers should take , it starts with a small thing like fashion week and the rest of the branding falls in line and thats how they convince the consumers and consumers buy in numbers....why cant we adopt that in this place? Why are we becoming ass kissers (for lack of a better word) . Whats the point of designing if we are going to let non-designers dictate the market for fear of sales? Even Apple went against the grain and now everyone wants one. Dont give the market what it thinks it wants......show it what it deserves
