I keep seeing girls quoting Marilyn Monroe or just looking up to her in general.... Almost replicating the way they think about themselves family and friends by quotes she spoke....but why?? She was married three times and was rumored to have had affairs with both John F. Kennedy and Robert Kennedy. Depending on which version of the story you choose, she either accidentally overdosed, committed suicide, or was somehow forced to swallow too many pills — for an end result of pushing up daisies. Does that sound like someone worth emulating? Just because she was pretty? Because she said coquettish things? Was she actually classy? That doesn’t sound like class to me. Her biggest impact on society that i have seen is mainly in having helped spur the fashionable mood for victimhood, infantilism, vulgarity and self-absorption. It is telling that some of the worst modern airhead celebrities, such as Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan, identify so strongly with Marilyn. Playing the victim but at the same time sabotaging your life doesnt do much for a happy life.... Be careful who you look up to.
