I kind of hate being the guy who says I was a fan of ____ before he/she/it was popular, but then again, Im tired of having to hide that fact. Ive come to realize, semi-objectively, that I find out about a lot of great stuff before others do. I genuinely love sharing things that I really like, and I LOVE seeing the reactions from people when they discover something the same way that I did. If you look at my history on here, I TRY to share it with you guys, and most of the time it gets very little attention. So I sometimes feel the need to reiterate, because...I guess theres some selfishness and pride there, but theres also the part of me that really wants to make sure that people find out about it. So Im not saying to tell me, Good job, Christian! Just give them a listen, a view, a chance. If you like it, look into the older stuff. So, having said that...Ive been a fan of Childish Gambino (also known as Donald Glover, or Troy from Community) for years, now. I started listening when Culdesac came out, and immediately searched out Poindexter (I still havent heard Sick Boi unfortunately...I keep playing everything else and forgetting about it). Ive been waiting and hoping that his musical career would take off, because I want as many people as possible to enjoy his music, for his sake and for their own. Ive shared songs on here for the last couple of years, Ive talked about his work, Ive shared articles about him. And yes, theres some pride there that Ive been listening to him for a long time (my go to pre-exam ritual is to put Hero on as Im walking to the class and get pumped up...when I listen to that song I AM A GOD), but I want you guys to listen, too. I dont share something unless I really freaking enjoy it. Thats all...sorry if this comes across as something I dont intend it to be, and of course for the MASSIVELY LONG POST. So...yeah. All of this is done with love, even if it sounds like hate.
