I knew they were around with a nest in the eave of my chicken - TopicsExpress

I knew they were around with a nest in the eave of my chicken coop.... and my tolerance in high because they are such a neat native rodent... but when i raised the hood of my old Ford pickup and they are starting to build a nest in it... it is time to start thinking about relocating my family of bushy tailed wood rats. So I caught papa rat this morning and set him up with treats, bedding, food and H20 in a ferret cage. I should have mamason rat and whatever weaned offspring that wanted to claim my pickup truck in the morning and then I will translocate the whole fam damily to a suitable rocky ledge and set them up with some winter stores. If it were not for the truck and some chewing damage around the property I would let these pack rats coexist in the chicken coop... but all is all it is better for them to be up in the rimrocks and native habitat.
