I knew this story was embellished, a lot! Had to be. It takes a big ego to be the kind of man to write of his own heroic adventures. Reminds me of GDubya’s pal, Bud Day. The guy who won two Congressional Medals of Honor, yet had no witnesses to his heroism, just a friend who owed him a favor, George HW Bush. Witnesses are a requisite of receiving the Medal, btw. At a time when the right desperately needs a hero, who better than a dead one who can’t feel the heat for lying, but still has a wife and kid to collect the royalties? I’m no fan of Jesse Ventura anymore since he has become a huge conspiracy theory advocate, but he won a lawsuit against Chris Kyle for lying and saying he punched him out. According to court records, Ventura never met Kyle and the whole incident was made up in the mind of an egomaniac needing to be relevant after his service. This article does not dispute the fact that Chris Kyle killed 160 enemy combatants. It reveals for the first time that the movie, and even possibly the book, has much disputed details of events when no witnesses or record supports claims made by Kyle.
