I know I asked this before, but we are trying to decide whether or not to enroll Cami for kindergarten this year. Shell be 5 October 17, so she would enroll early. We had a psychologist test her yesterday and she passed every test (academic, social, emotional) and the school observed her in a kinder classroom a couple of months ago and said she did great. They have no reservations about starting her early at all. Will is really pushing for her to go this year for these reasons: shes ready, she will never learn as much as quickly as she will at this age, shes already accepted into the Chinese immersion program (via lottery), she needs the challenge (which she wont get anywhere else), shes already been in preschool for 2 years. I dont know what I want. I do agree with Will, but part of me thinks we should wait because: is she going to be okay during the junior high and high school years when all of her friends are experiencing things and shes a year behind physically and emotionally?, shes only 4 and will be younger and smaller than everyone in her grade, why not let her have one more year to be a kid before the chaos of every day school starts. I just dont know. Since she did great on every test, is that a sign to just start her? AHHHH!!! Does anyone have experience with this at all? Or any advice? Thank you!
