I know I dont read as much as I probably should (and Ill get on it once again eventually), but for now repaying Manasi (and annoying a fraction of my friends list). :) Book bucket list challenge. Here is an interesting exercise - List the 10 books youve read that have meant something to you. Dont think too hard. The books must be the ones that first come to your mind. Then tag friends including me, so that I can see your list and maybe steal a few to read. Heres my list: 1. Sherlock Holmes series - Arthur Conan Doyle 2. Young Sherlock Holmes series - Andrew Lane 3. Arsene Lupin series - Maurice Leblanc 4. Prophetic books + Art - William Blake 5. Leaves of Grass - Walt Whitman 6. Bartimaeus Trilogy (+ Prequel) - Johnathan Stroud 7. Faust (Part 1 and Part 2) - Johann Wolfgang von Goethe 8. No Orchids For Miss Blandish - James Hadley Chase 9. The Lucifer effect - Philip Zimbardo 10. Gitanjali - Rabindranath Tagore My Honorary mention would be: 1) Harry Potter for its heroism and stance against bigotry, 2) Artemis Fowl for sensationalizing intelligence, 3) Mabinogion for its rich Welsh folklores, 4) Dostoyevskis Crime and Punishment which... I havent read yet BUT I have a feeling its gonna be awesome. 5) Pure Effect by Derren Brown -- My absolute favourite, but the reason this didnt make it to the list is because its practical guide to magical artistry, and not really fiction. Also, Im STILL reading it currently. 6) The Shi Jing -- a beautiful collection of classic chinese poetry written as early as 1000 BC. 7) Journey to the West by Wu Chengen -- You really cant beat THIS mythological tale! Sun Wukong vs Hanuman, anyone? Thanks Manasi Nene! Go for it, Jannie Raczinski Srijan Dubey Caro Fautsch Amanda Tise Mayank Mark Susngi Aashna Iyer Shantanu Anand Nandini Varma Neil Kulkarni Pratika Yashaswi Apurv Inamdar Needa Bano Manu Meyer If Ive forgotten someone, its because I got tired of tagging more people. xD But I know who you are. Lemme haz your books. :P
