I know I have a lot of friends who are either Downtown Project/Zappos/Tony Hsieh lovers or haters. I recently learned Downtown Project/Tony Hsieh made a selfless decision with the 2 story John E. Carson building to add an elevator at an additional expense of about $100,000. This was not an ADA law requirement, but a decision to make the rooftop patio accessible to all. I am quite certain not one single other developer would do such a thing unless required to by law, OR it penciled out to be a profitable move--which is clearly not the case here. This was an expensive voluntary act of kindness that I thought others should be made aware of. OK haters/lovers...carry on.
