I know I have said it before but I will say it again - I dont think there could EVER be a bad day in the Great Smoky Mountains. Arrived just after sunrise today and left at dusk. The company was EXCELLENT and the wildlife abundant with a LOT of photographic opportunities. Everything started out a little slow with overcast skies and a cool breeze. By 11am the sun was out and the critters were on the move. A LOT of buck and doe along with a few special surprises like this male Northern Harrier (AKA The Gray Ghost). He actually waited this time, perched on a fence post, and even looked back at me for this shot. What a real treat!! The female is now in the area too but never came close enough to get a decent shot. Guess we will have to go back and try again. Darn!
