I know I often (too often) post about being on the outside of divided votes, but I am truly proud of the way my board worked through the issues around Ordinance 2488 (the occupy ordinance) this morning. After a presentation and discussion of the recommendations brought to us by the Human Rights Commission, my board voted (4-1; Bohn dissenting) to repeal the ordinance in its entirety. The board then unanimously approved a motion for Supervisor Bohn and I to work with our Counsel and CAO to consider the HRCs other recommendations and return to the board in the future.
