I know I shared this once, but it bears repeating: Karen Berg Daily Consciousness Rachel the Matriarch Monday November 3, 2014 According to the Kabbalists, on the day that a person leaves this world, all of the Light that his or her soul has revealed in this physical domain is available for the rest of humanity to tap into and be nurtured from. Tonight is the death anniversary of Rachel the Matriarch and through her we can draw spiritual nourishment and protection because she was meant to serve as a channel of what we call in Hebrew deagah, which loosely translated into English is pure and simple caring. Rachel’s father was Laban, a man who was known to be a chief “warlock” of his time. A practitioner of black magic, Laban was very powerful and able to manipulate energy for his own ends. Yet, from his seed came Rachel, one of the purest souls that ever walked the earth. The point of this story is that Light often comes from seemingly unlikely- or sometimes even dark- places. No matter who we are, what we are, or what we feel we have or don’t have in this moment, if we are willing to extend ourselves for the well-being of others, we can make a difference. Many of us seek solutions to the ups and downs of everyday life, unaware of one of the greatest kabbalistic secrets: when we are busy taking care of others, the Creator gets busy taking care of us. With one action we can tip the scales of the world towards the side of Light. Tonight, lets all take a moment to pause and connect to the energy of Rachel. Thank her for being a channel of care and protection for all of humanity. Imagine a world flooded with love, and then find a way to go outside of yourself to help another person in need.
