I know I sound like a broken record, but I must emphasize that the bible speaks of three baptisms. One is required, two you should have and only hurt your walk of faith by not accepting them. The first baptism is salvation which is the one baptism we must have to be of the family of Christ. John 3;5-7 Eph. 4:5 Romans 6 This baptism is entered only by faith by calling on the name of the Lord. The second is water baptism. This baptism is done in the name of Jesus and gives us a good conscience towards God as we obtain a more perfect understanding of what he has done for us through salvation, as water baptism is symbolic of the baptism that saved us. The third is the Baptism of the Holy Ghost which is done in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Ghost, usually by the laying on of hands, but not always. A man can be born again and not receive the other two baptisms and still go to Heaven. However, by not accepting the baptisms makes difficult ones walk of faith. So in essence a man who does not accept the baptisms endangers his salvation or more to the point, weakens it howbeit he refuses to receive the baptism of fire, the Holy Ghost. When a man refuses to accept the other baptisms, he quenches the Holy Spirit as it is Christs will we receive the baptism, thus making his walk of faith far more perilous.
