I know Im a day late for this but the Greek community nationwide - TopicsExpress

I know Im a day late for this but the Greek community nationwide lost an extraordinary man yesterday. Tim Maniatis was a man we all looked up to for many reasons, but mostly because he exemplified what it meant to be a Hellene with dignity, class and humility, and have a good sense of humor about it. As young Greek-Americans, all of us that were in the Sons of Pericles and Maids of Athena had someone we could always rely on for anything we ever needed. Tim was the epitome of what true leadership represented and over the most crucial and critical part of my life, Tim, along with my koubaro +Johnny Economy, Bill Marianes, Steve Manta, and all the other FOJs, represented what was good about being Greek and striving to make our ethnicity shine in ways it never had before. This idea continues today trough Tims daughter Stephanie, and others like Nicholas Karacostas, Basil Mossaidis, Ike Gulas, John Grossomanides, and others Im sure it have forgotten. Those of us that had the privilege to work with and learn from Tim, have a HUGE responsibility to continue the work that he started. People like Billy Gahagan, George Vassilas, myself and others need to start stepping up because we have really big shoes to fill. We miss you Timmy and love you very much. Your memory will forever be eternal!
