I know Rep Dick Muri from running against him in the 2012 Congressional race for the new 10th. Dick surprised me by reaching out and calling within a couple hours of getting on the ballot. He said he was reaching across the party lines but I didnt trust him. Not sure if that was my loss or my gain but he is very friendly and easy to talk with even though there are areas we did not agree such as charter schools which he is a strong proponent of. I had the opportunity to speak with Dick on Housing and homelessness and I-594 this year in his office. I know he is a strong proponent of housing for veterans and believes barracks need to be used to house some of the homeless veterans. He was also in favor of housing veterans at Western State in a separate building for just veterans. I suggested if that were the case then they are close enough to mental health help, I felt they should not only obtain housing but also treatment. I do not remember his stance on that issue. I did learn from him about Habitat for Humanity homes being built in Tillicum. I took a drive out and found them to be nice and affordable. I believe they are for military and veterans. I went out and volunteered with Habitat on them either one or two days early spring. On another occasion I met with Rep. Muri on I-594. His ideas on the bill and what was on it did not match our information. We asked if he had attorneys that went over the bills with them and he said they did. I wonder if that is not a part of the big problem; democrats and republicans are not working with the same information. I gave him my sheet on I-594 and he was suppose to check it out and get back with us. I have not heard from him. Information and Mary Moss campaign website is below. Please check it out so you are knowledgeable in your decision-making. Now if you have not voted yet, it is up to you to see which individual most closely represents your values. I wish I had more on Council woman Mary Moss personally to pass on, but I won give what I dont have. Both are Christians. Read both web sites and make the decision based on facts; also read your voters pamphlet. MOST OF ALL, PLEASE VOTE AND LET YOUR VOICE BE HEARD.
