I know a 2-mile race seems out of place here, but were putting one on primarily to kick off the fall cross country season (that is definitely a GOATZ thing). Scenic place to run, you mega-mileage types can run on miles of roads (a little bit of limestone trail) before and after the run to keep your mileage up, and use the race for speed work. Best thing about this is the throwback pricing. $10 if you want the shirt (it will be a nice one), $2 if you want to just race, and get an accurate time on a wheeled course and be eligible for age group stuff. The race sponsor is a restaurant there on site that serves breakfast (not included in entry but they are supposedly going to run some kind of special). Im the girls XC coach at Fremont and what little proceeds from this event will go back into womens distance running.
