I know a bit about music. I have a lot of music trivia backed up - TopicsExpress

I know a bit about music. I have a lot of music trivia backed up in my brain. I can recall names and titles, and even lyrics to a lot of songs, even ones I dont like. Not quite enough to be a historian, but enough to satisfy inquiries from family and friends who want to know who, what, where and when. But once in awhile, I run into something so mind blowing to me...the mind blowing part being that I wasnt already aware of it. Such is the case here, with this song. My mothers favorite two songs of all time are El Paso, and its sequel, El Paso City by Marty Robbins. has to do with her being born there. They are possibly two of the greatest songs ever written, such rich and evocative lyrics that tell stories. The 1st song tells of a love doomed to failure against the backdrop of the old west, and the second is the haunting tale of a ghost roaming the area where he met his fate all that time ago. BUT, what I didnt know, in between those songs, Robbins released another part to the story, the story of Feleena, the girl in the original El Paso. And its just as grand and as picturesque in its story as the others. Ive never heard of it, never have heard it mentioned, never have seen it included on any greatest hits albums. I came across it accidentally last night.....youtu.be/ETwWTciEcoQ
