I know a lot of interesting people. Ive met some of the worlds renown interesting people. But to me, Deb is the most interesting person on this planet. I find her amazing and mind blowing. Im really a boring guy thats simply allowing the woman i love to inspire my actions. Shes awesome! UPDATE: i phoned Deb at 11:00am today. Hi Deb, whats shakin, babe... Deb answered by saying Oh wait... i gotta talk to her... YOU!!! NURSE!!! GODDAMMIT I WANT FOOD... NOW...! the phone sounded like it was dropped and i guess Deb stood up, still attached to the IV. Im freakin leaving right now if you dont bring me something to eat... McDOnalds is out there and i might not come back... Nurse calmly said We cant force you to stay. Your doctor gave me clear instructions not to to give you any food but ice chips... Deb -- SINCE TUESDAY???? NO FOOD SINCE TUESDAY??? NO! The IV is nothing. No flavor. Im outta here... So, im hollering into my cell phone trying to get Deb to pick up the phone. Dont piss off the nurse. Please dont piss off the nurse. i shouted unheard. Then she hung the phone up, completely forgetting that i was there. So i texted my daughter Shae with instructions to smuggle in some crackers. Shae didnt answer so i debated with myself to either leave work right now and bring Deb 2 Big Macs (theyre 2 for $5 this weekend), or call Jimmie Johns to deliver her an Italian Sub, (that would be soooo cool), but after about 10 minutes of thought i phoned Deb to tell her to call her pal Kris to bring her some cookies. Kris lives right by that hospital. Hello? Deb? are you ok? --- They gave me a lunch menu!!!! BUT I CANT TALK NOW, DOCTOR is RIGHT HERE WITH ME NOW... So i looked up at the frigid sky and prayed Dear God, now is a good time to intervene with a lil peace, love, and understanding in that care unit. I continued to deliver the mail. i phone Deb at 2:00pm. She sounded content did you eat? i heard a long sigh and a small voice no and then she continued with a Mort Crim style news casters voice it appears that my stomach tried to cure itself (sort-of) because it has a new layer of tissue grown over a cluster of small ulcers. Thats why i would be fine for a few months, then after experiencing terrible stress, the acid in my stomach wore down the new tissue which then allowed blood to enter my stomach and digestive system... No surgery is required but a very clean stomach is essential to the treatment. He assured her that the treatment is almost 100% effective but food particles will not allow a perfect coating. The coating is via IV and takes more than 24 hours to complete. Deb wont be home for a few more days. I went to my favorite butcher store on Joy Road and bought a good hunk of his freshly ground 80/20 chuck to make Gołąbki Lasagna for Debs return. When i go to the hospital shortly, Ill pocket a muffin for Deb and maybe stop to get some fresh baba-ghannoush. Of course she wont eat it, but its equal to a dozen roses in this scenario.
