I know a lot of people are shocked by the news that Hopsin is no longer perusing a music career... Let me be the FIRST to say, you have NO IDEA what being on this side is like. Even if you do rap, if its locally this does not apply to you.... Once you begin to reach a certain level of success, its almost impossible to meet ANYone that doesnt have an agenda..Everyone begins to look at you as ____ rather than who you really are, and though thats what we want in the beginning...After a certain point it begins to feel as if you are just a product and not even a real person. As the fans increase, you feel as if they only care when your next release is without even knowing what could possibly be going on in your personal life... Living in Atlanta and touring for 3 years straight completely separated me from my actual existence. Relationships with family, friends, and especially my girl and kid suffered tremendously and eventually became as if everyone i once knew were strangers...Which at first didnt seem so bad because i mean..The whole idea was getting out right?..right..While telling myself this, I lost everything personally while my career was reaching new heights so it was a sea-saw of mood swings on how i REALLY felt...I was betrayed by the people i trusted the most and was left out to dry with NOTHING in 2012...If there was a time to quit...THAT WAS IT...Eventually, I found a balance and was able to get my mind right and back on track with the help of the fans and supporters telling me what my music has done for them. As artists we will NEVER STOP doing music, but it takes a certain kind to REALLY make this a career and be able to make it as far as Hop did...It takes so much sacrifice and hard work to make a dream reality but if you REALLY want it..You can do it! Just remember, what youre chasing doesnt matter.... HAPPINESS is the TRUE meaning of success...GOOD LUCK MARCUS
