I know a lot of people are waiting on this post. The last 3 days - TopicsExpress

I know a lot of people are waiting on this post. The last 3 days have been tough. I had my pet scan on Wednesday. We were waiting for progression but the results I got were stunning. At four oclock I got a call from the nurse navigator since my oncologist was on an airplane. Most of you know I dont wait well, so as soon as I knew he wouldnt be able to check my results I asked if I could ask the navigator to call me with them. So after swimming as I was headed to my car I had a message to call her. So I called and my results were finally in. I have progression of the cancer in my lymph nodes and spine. I have four areas on my spine. A left rib affected. The most shocking of all an area on my right cerebellum (brain). I was cool and calm. I think my trip to Brazil prepared me for this. I immediately was in fight mode. I beat this before when I was backed in a corner and I WILL do it again. I called my oncologist expecting to leave a message because he was in the air. Well he answered. I told him the news and even 30,000 feet above the ground he jumped into action. He called the navigator to get me an appointment with the radiation oncologist the next day. Get me a stat MRI of the brain, which wasnt going to happen till Friday night. So he then arranged for a stat CT of the head. The navigator doing this all after he hours were up at work. So she called me and said can you be at the hospital for a stat CT of the head by 6:30. I was halfway home and turned around. She had set up an appointment for me at 9:30 the next morning with the radiation doctor. So I went for my CT knowing I would have the results that night. They couldnt get a hold of my oncologist so they got the on call doctor. He called and it was hard cause he doesnt know me at all. So he asked what I knew. After that he proceeded to tell me I also have a mass on my left frontal lobe. I have brain swelling and will need steroids. Was surprised I was not having any symptoms. So I digested this information and began looking for my steroids. I cant afford a seizure at this point.
