I know everyone likes a bargain, but the scenes on display today - TopicsExpress

I know everyone likes a bargain, but the scenes on display today for Black Friday are shocking. Personally, I think a lot of the problems are caused by this government who are meant to be serving ALL of the people of this nation of ours. Sadly, theyre more interested in serving the richest of this country....oh, and themselves too. Not wanting to single anyone out but I fail to see how you get the likes of NHS staff, firefighters, police officers and the armed forces who save lives or put their lives on the line for our safety and are paid peanuts compared to the likes of the monarchy and politicians being told they cant even have a 1% pay rise. Then in the next breath, this government award themselves an 11% rise on an income far exceeding most of the salaries of those services I previously mentioned. We also see the scandalous benefits system, where genuinely sick and vulnerable people have resorted to taking their own lives because of the cuts or in some cases, the axing of their benefits. But we see some of the genuine scroungers and immigrants raking in tens and hundreds of thousands of pounds...how is this fair ? Oh wait, it isnt.... Next on the radar, the bankers who get paid huge bonuses, even though theyve cost the taxpayers billions of pounds from all the losses they run up. Then we have big businesses who make tens and hundreds of millions of pounds each year but somehow manage to avoid paying much tax. People in various entertainment industries who use dubious methods to avoid paying the right amount of tax...need I go on ? There is more than enough money in this country to provide a fair wage for those less well off, to treat those who are genuinely sick and unfit for work, to look after the elderly who have given their lives to hard work and paying taxes and national insurance. To better reward those who risk life and limb every day, so that we can be safe...and also those who work long hours to make sure that we are treated as well as possible when were ill and hospitalised. Sadly, I dont think that will happen in my lifetime because we have far too many people running this country or the businesses in this country who are intent on making the rich even richer and the poor even poorer
