I know how hard it is for servers who work at dine in restaurants. They make something like $3-$4/hour so they are completely dependent on the tips they receive from customers. I always hear people say I cant afford to leave a 15% tip. Thats crap. If you cant afford to tip your server, then you shouldnt be eating out. Some dont know this, but many restaurants expect their servers to receive a certain amount (in tips) from each table they wait on. At the end of the night, each server has to give that expected amount to their manager (or something like that). If a server didnt receive the expected amount, then that server has to come up with the difference out of their own pocket so if you dont tip your server, you could be putting that server in a position where they have to pay for your meal. I realize that some servers are just bad, but you should at least leave something. Moral of the story: tip your server and if you cant afford to do that, then just go to McDonalds.
