I know it seems like Anders and I are always flogging out books on FB, but thats not true, sometimes we post cartoons as well. Todays update is neither. Today, I want to talk about - me. A month ago today, my boss told me to go talk to the Assistant Executive Director of Linden Ponds (my place of employment for 2 years, 2 months, and 23 days). I was told that my job was eliminated due to restructuring. Id be lying if I said I didnt hate them for screwing up their business so badly that they needed to restructure. Still not able to look at the bright side of this. Not sure there is a bright side. As Anders noted the other day, my depression, which is a life long chronic illness, has hit new lows during this transition period. I havent really enjoyed too much of what is happening around me. Mental health issues are not a matter of mood. You can not just snap out of it by going shopping or getting your hair done. Even wonderful news can be lost on you. Midnight 28 has been the one bright shiny spot in this very bleak fall. It is our first cross over hit. We have sat nestled in the top 4 of the Amazon Hot New Releases since 10/01. It actually puts us 2 degrees from Anne Rice by Kevin Bacon standards. I can not thank those who bought the ebook enough. The paperback will be available soon. Ill be okay. Its like a break up, according to Anders. Being the dumpee is never fun. Give it some time, she tells me. Im trying. In the mean time, you folks and your support of my writing have made this fall just a bit more tolerable.
