I know its the 4th of July and its a day for celebrating Americas - TopicsExpress

I know its the 4th of July and its a day for celebrating Americas independence, but an early morning phone call with my brother reminded me of how thankful I am to celebrate another day of life... I have had 3 near death experiences in my 42 years. The first was a car accident in Saginaw, Michigan when my daughter, Tiera R. was 6 months old. Her uncle Raymond was driving. The tires were bald and there was a blow out. The car flipped over twice in a ditch and left her fathers mother temporarily paralyzed and her fathers cousins face was pretty much ripped. If I remember correctly she lost her ear and needed reconstruction. I was in the backseat without a seat belt and Tiera was in my arms. I was nursing her. I dont know why but this morning I can vividly remember having her in my arms and trying to hold on to her and brace myself as the car flipped. It all happened so fast. When the car stopped she was no longer in my arms and was outside the car. I remember thanking God as I heard her cry. Though her face was covered with blood, my baby survived. It later turned out that the blood on her face was not hers but was from my forehead, which was also the only injury that I suffered. I have always felt that the reason I didnt die in that accident is because Tiera needed me. Crazy, right? I know that Im not the only one who wakes up extremely thankful for life everyday. As we celebrate the 4th with our families, lets be sure to enjoy every moment. It is truly a blessing to be able to see, hold and enjoy your loved ones. And if you are feuding, make up. Life is way too short.
