I know many of you get a kick out of my little snippets about my neighborhood every now and then. For the last couple of weeks Ive been getting up really early because I work the Election next Tuesday and have to get up around 04:30 so I can be at my polling precinct by 06:00 to set up. My neighborhood is actually a much busier place than I would have imagined at that time of morning; yet it is still quiet. An older lady up the street sweeps her porch every morning at around 05:30. A couple who lives close by takes a walk every morning. At about the same time every morning the Security Guard sets down and has a cup of what I assume is coffee on one of the benches at the Kaiser French Campus across the street. Every morning at around 06:00 people start leaving home for work; and at least one is just getting home from work. I also notice more SFPD patrol cars coming and going early in the morning than I do other times of the day; has to be shift change. However, the one thing I noticed about my neighborhoods morning people is that they all are almost always wearing a smile. I was never a morning person growing up; yet every job Ive had, and being a Volunteer Firefighter required me to be up and about in the wee hours of the morning. I think Ill take a walk...
