I know many of you have been waiting on an update since we have been here at CTCA. We just wanted to get through all the Drs before I updated. Im going to try and explain a little about his cancer. First off Ronnie has stage 4 Lung Cancer. Although he had his left lung removed last Dec it is back with a vengeance (they are not sure it was ever gone). It is on his lymph nodes in his chest and has traveled through the blood. There is a tumor on his left rib. It is also in his back and has eaten through his T12 vertebrae. They confirmed to us that the cancer is not curable but if they can keep it contained he will have a longer and better quality of life. So heres the plan. Ronnie will have surgery on Mon morning to place a port back in. He will begin chemo that afternoon. He will also begin radiation Mon and will have it every day for two weeks. We should be able to come home on Dec 2nd. He will return two weeks after that for more chemo then it will be every three weeks following. There is a clinical trial available for him if he decides he wants to try that eventually and if his insurance covers it. Please continue to pray for him/us.
