I know most of us all believe in a world beyond boundaries and we all love musicians for their music- but sometimes as a Bangladeshi I have felt the line drawn when singing songs not Bengali . Even singing Vande Mataram which is as every part of my heritage as anyone elses in the region has always opened up lines of debate and criticism even if as chatter at the back of my mind. But seeing AR Rahman sir firsthand as a human first; a proud carrier of spirit and sound from one part of the world to another, a keen observer of the universe, the soil, the emotions of the heart and also So Much Love and Energy to share- has removed all doubt from my mind. This is all ours, all the languages, all the genres all the instruments- we share this planet and the love inside it as well as the hate- and it is upto us to find each other and continue to connect with each other and share ourselves with each other. I have never felt as comfortable in my own skin as I did tonight. I could not stop smiling and/or crying even onstage and after. I love you Universe esp you Berklee Indian Ensemble Annette Philip and A.R. Rahman
