I know most of you wont read this, but because I still have to listen to Racism talks, I wanted to write you a LONG message about racism. If you really want to know what it is, then just read it and try to understand it. This will challenge your definitions of racism: - I will prove to you, that racism can only be a mindset of the Majority of a society - Majority is defined by those in power, not by numbers. In America, black people can be bigots, prejudice, and evil, but they cannot be racist per definition. - In order for a black person to be racist, they would have to have 1) Prejudice against whites/others 2) the power to act upon that without repercussion, or diminished punishment, and 3) Internal proof that they are in fact better. In America there is no evidence to suggest that black as a whole are positioned to be racist. White however, are afforded a nation build on racism and benefit from it daily. - So, all white arent racist, but only white can be racist, as there is no cultural or social way for a black man to validate his stereotypes and enforce his views against others. However, some black people are assholes. and they are bigots, and they bully, and they mistreat, but NONE of those things are inherently racist. They are reacting in an aggressive manor towards themselves and other because of the effects racism has had on them, not because they think they are better. Just as a dog that has been abused reacts negatively to close encounters with the abusers, so do Blacks in our society. They, the great majority, have SUCH a inferiority complex, that they act aggressively because of a loss of power of self- determination. I think there is a problem with the definitions. Personally, the definition of Racism is the the thought that your race is better than any other race is faulty logic at best. Lets look at the evidence. Prejudice is the act of judging due to stereotypes, without actually knowledge. Bigotry is the mistreatment of others due to visible or inherent chosen differences. Racism, can be defined many ways, but any way you define it, there is literally only one race per defined border, that controls the landscape that the others have to learn to live in. According to the definition you have provided, Racism is unjust, irrational, disliking for a group of people based on things they cant control. This definition could act as a definition to both prejudice and bigotry, therefore is not a concrete as one would think. Racism is not just a disliking of another, it is the belief that yours is better, and the authority to act on behalf of that, or a system that acts in favor of that stance. I would like to actually make an intelligent argument and offer a common understanding of racism, so that everyone can be clear about what racism is, and what it is not. But before I do: “We have made enormous progress in teaching everyone that racism is bad. Where we seem to have dropped the ball… is in teaching people what racism actually IS.” - Jon Stewart “The problem is that white people see racism as conscious hate, when racism is bigger than that. Racism is a complex system of social and political levers and pulleys set up generations ago to continue working on the behalf of whites at other people’s expense, whether whites know/like it or not. Racism is an insidious cultural disease. It is so insidious that it doesn’t care if you are a white person who likes black people; it’s still going to find a way to infect how you deal with people who don’t look like you. Yes, racism looks like hate, but hate is just one manifestation. Privilege is another. Access is another. Ignorance is another. Apathy is another. And so on. So while I agree with people who say no one is born racist, it remains a powerful system that we’re immediately born into. It’s like being born into air: you take it in as soon as you breathe. It’s not a cold that you can get over. There is no anti-racist certification class. It’s a set of socioeconomic traps and cultural values that are fired up every time we interact with the world. It is a thing you have to keep scooping out of the boat of your life to keep from drowning in it. I know it’s hard work, but it’s the price you pay for owning everything.” - Scott Woods Although many people want to say that racism is simply the idea that one race is better than another, this is simply not true. Bigotry is that (considering a race/group as better or lowly due to personal subjective opinions). Prejudice is the judgement of a group of people base on social stereotypes. Racism is that Bigotry and/or that prejudice with the ABILITY to benefit from those ideas and beliefs in society. Put simply, Racism is ONLY the ability to force one’s beliefs of superiority onto another group of people, and having the ability to enforce that belief by social, institutional, economic means. As in the Wikipedia definition, Racism consists of both prejudice and discrimination based in social perceptions of biological differences between peoples. It often takes the form of social actions, practices or beliefs, or political systems that consider different races to be ranked as inherently superior or inferior to each other, based on presumed shared inheritable traits, abilities, or qualities. It may also hold that members of different races should be treated differently. Some definitions of racism also include discriminatory behaviors and beliefs based on cultural, national, ethnic, caste, or religious stereotypes. One view holds that racism is best understood as ‘prejudice plus power’ because without the support of political or economic power, prejudice would not be able to manifest as a pervasive cultural, institutional or social phenomenon. Racism then is the ability to benefit in society from your beliefs of racial superiority. It can be a personal choice and action, but there is only one race per region that can enforce their racist views. With this definition, Black people or any other race other than white cannot be racist. They can be bigots, they can be prejudice, and they can even enforce their views in very limited instances (In neighborhoods where “minorities” are dominant). But the Global institutions, the national institutions, law institution, economic institutions, and every other form of social institution is inherently geared to support white racial superiority complexes. It is not possible for a Black man to be racist, as he can’t enforce his racial superiority in society at any level beyond his own mind. Is there any rational person on the planet that can honestly say that America is not a “white” dominated country? Since there is an obvious answer (let’s skip the logical arguments that can get us to that point, and rather let’s be real about this topic and not insult our intelligence), how could any other race truly feel that they are racially superior if they have no POWER to exercise that dominance. How can a black person look themselves in the mirror and say “Yes, I am better than white people in this society, and look at all the evidence in my life and in the lives of other people of my skin color. Clearly we are the most advanced people by economic, political representation, and in education”. When all the institutions are run by rich elites who are mostly white, how can a bigoted Black man or Mexican man enforce their will and desire on whites? The person who is on the bottom of society cannot be racist, because there is no internal or external logical evidence that would supports his internal assertion of superiority. However, the person on the top looking down at the lowly doesn’t need to admit their beliefs or even define them correctly, because there is nothing that can harm him socially any which way. Put simply, White people do not suffer from the ignorance of racists ideology, only those “minorities” do. The reason why whites balk at the idea that they are racist, is one of the symptoms of that racism. When you have the power to control, you also have the power of allowing yourself the privilege of denial. No black person can survive in this society by denying that he is black or that he is judged by standards imposed on him by whites. It is white privilege that allows whites to say “I have a black friend, I’m not racist”. It is also white privilege to think that they can talk with any sense of authority about how black people feel or how the term racism is defined socially. PS ….. Racism is a response to an environmental threat. In places where there are a monoculture of race, there is no racism, due to there being no threat of genetic dilution or loss. Racism is a conscious fear of the unconscious threat of “genetic annihilation”. If you need a translation: Dark skin is what is the basis of human genes, as we all came from the “first” set of humans who were no doubt Black. When you mix black and white skin, you will almost certainly get a baby darker than the light skinned parent. This is due to light colored skin being the recessive trait in humans, and the dark skin (chocolate color) is the dominant trait. If all the black and white people were to intermix, the outcome would be dark colored generations to follow. Scientifically, racism is a conscious institution based of unconscious fear that is taken to the social arena in order to ensure that white genetic markers are carried into the future. This is a theory promoted by Dr. Cress-Welsing – “Welsing proposes that, because it is so easy for pure whiteness to be genetically lost during interracial breeding, light-skinned peoples developed an aggressive colonial urge and their societies dominated others militarily in order to preserve this light-skinned purity. Welsing ascribes certain inherent and behavioral differences between black and white people to a “melanin deficiency” in white people. Welsing proposes what she calls a “functional definition of racism” This is why it is frustrating to black people that racism is so paramount and pervasive. Even people in the middle east, Africa, china, the rest of the orient, southeast Asia all are affected by how whites impose their superiority complex. This is all based on fear, which is the reason for the noted denial and defensiveness in anti-racist/ apathetic responses. The world is not mad at you. We just want you to be honest with yourselves. Everyone is allowed to have pride for who they are, as self respect and appreciation are the cornerstone to successful futures. This is why black people are not successful, as they do not define their success from a tradition and history of that ideal, they/we can only base our successes on white’s ideals of society, which is a racist ideal. That is why all the ‘good” black people appear white washed to other blacks, and that is why people like tiger woods and the like are palatable to general American society. In China, only the Chinese can be racist. In Saudi, only Saudis can be racist. They all accept it and don’t make a stink about it, but they are aware that they are in “Their” place and have those views. No one cries when they say this. It is a fact. It is time that America faces this as well and stops balking at the idea that whites in America are the dominant race and therefore can whites only be racist. No other race in the USA can look down on white people and say “We are better than you because of everything that we have and do, and we are going to show you in action”. Every other race looks to achieve WITH whites in America, not figure out ways, and establish methods to dominate whites. But, then again, that could change, which is the threat that I was mentioning earlier, unless we end this non-sense soon. Imagine a pet being racist against its owner, or a slave, or a worker against his boss. It doesnt work in simple logic, because the root of racism is the belief that you and others like you are better. Think about it. I know that most people won’t read this, and those that do will try to correct sentences, or will try to play word tricks with them, but the meaning is the same. You white people are capable and allowed to deny your racism in the same way that you are allowed to have those views because of privilege.
