I know some may question why we are supporting an Ayatollah, but this kind and gentle man has been imprisoned and tortured for standing up for his people and being brave enough to state on many occasion that he believes in the separation of religion from the state. The regime saves a particular brand of torture for the dissident clergy. Mr. Boroujerdi has even been gassed in prison with a nerve gas as a form of torture and his wife was raped in front of his son. He has been denied urgent medical care for years for his long list of medical ailments mostly resulting from various tortures and his exposure to the the toxic gas. Mr. Boroujerdi has been tortured and denied medical attention so that he can perish without a sound, without a bullet or a noose around his neck....away from the eyes of the world-silently. He is on his death bed after a reported heart attack on Sept 29, 2013 for which he has had no medical intervention. This is the face of Rouhani who Obama spoke to on the phone.
