I know some of the staff at WMHK & WRCM, but only casually. Id call them friendly acquaintances or professional peers ... friends mainly through social media or sharing a table at a convention (except Jeff Cruz Cornett ...) Ive watched as a 38 year old local radio ministry has gotten (publicly) transformed into a K-LOVE affiliate. (reason? allaccess/net-news/archive/story/134070/emf-purchases-wrcm-wmhk) over the years, I have witnessed many station sales (been a part of a few, and a part of an attempted few also) with staff liquidation; I have experienced those emotions firsthand. we all have our opinions in this industry about consolidation and syndication -- but setting that aside ... I want to acknowledge that the staff & management have handled this in the public eye with near pitch-perfect class, humility, grace, and professionalism. They seem to understand that K-LOVE can still advance the Kingdom in South Carolina, and that God is responsible for their provision. Im not sure Id have done as well as they have. Not only that -- they have celebrated the legacy of these ministries in a manner befitting the founders, former & current employees and the donors in a God honoring, excellent way. This is how its done. Now some of them head into a tough season, waiting and watching for new jobs and possibly moving across the country. So pray for these folks if you would. I know theyd appreciate it. And to those of you being prayed over: WELL DONE.
