I know that I am LATE in posting my lesson for this week, but sometimes God doesnt give me the COMPLETED lesson until the last minute. This is one of those times... Proverbs 18:24 A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly : and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother. John 15:13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. James 2: 23 And the scripture was fulfilled which saith , Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God. James 4:4 And the scripture was fulfilled which saith , Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God. DISCUSSION: Standing up for what you believe even though it may not be popular.. Make sure the Scriptures, not your opinion, back up your stance BEFORE you stand. FALSE PROPHETS Matthew 7:15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheeps clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. Matthew 7: 21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. 22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23 And then will I profess unto them , I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. Matthew 24: 24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. WARN THEM 1 Thessalonians 5: 1414 Now we exhort you, brethren, warn them that are unruly, comfort the feebleminded, support the weak, be patient toward all men. 15 See that none render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men. WHAT A FRIEND WE HAVE IN JESUS (LYRICS) 1. What a friend we have in Jesus, All our sins and griefs to bear! What a privilege to carry Everything to God in prayer! Oh, what peace we often forfeit, Oh, what needless pain we bear, All because we do not carry Everything to God in prayer! 2. Have we trials and temptations? Is there trouble anywhere? We should never be discouraged— Take it to the Lord in prayer. Can we find a friend so faithful, Who will all our sorrows share? Jesus knows our every weakness; Take it to the Lord in prayer. 3. Are we weak and heavy-laden, Cumbered with a load of care? Precious Savior, still our refuge— Take it to the Lord in prayer. Do thy friends despise, forsake thee? Take it to the Lord in prayer! In His arms He’ll take and shield thee, Thou wilt find a solace there. 4. Blessed Savior, Thou hast promised Thou wilt all our burdens bear; May we ever, Lord, be bringing All to Thee in earnest prayer. Soon in glory bright, unclouded, There will be no need for prayer— Rapture, praise, and endless worship Will be our sweet portion there. There is no friendship that can compare to that of the Lord! No not one! There is another song that we sing in our choir sometimes call Boundless Love. This lyric says…there is not another sister, friend or brother loves the way that Jesus can. Though I LOVE each and every one of you, my friends, my BFF is Jesus! Sometimes you might fail me, without even knowing, but His love is boundless and there is not another Friend like Him!
