I know that I am a little late with my tribute to my fallen comrade Navin Chanderpaul. Navin was humble, dedicated and a stalwart of the highest order. His work and interaction among the grass roots is indeed a legacy for others and of course me to emulate . I have had the honor of working with him and indeed have learnt much from his humility, charisma and sense of humor. He was also an intellect who held his own among academicians nationally and internationally. His work in the PYO in the 70s and 80s stands tall up today and in my view is yet to be eclipsed by any thus far. He cherished his friendships and would go beyond many boundaries to assist in whatever way he can. He was a passionate cricket fan and I doubt whether he has ever missed an international match played in Guyana over the last 30 years. Cde Navin has had a full life and did it the Navin way with few regrets along its highway. I consider myself fortunate to have been his Cde in the party for a number of years . I have learnt from him and will miss him . To Indra, Rabin his wife , Gita and all his relatives and friends, I extend my deepest condolences . Farewell dear Cde ..
