I know that NEW and DAP are both graduates and have had some exposure even nationally that is adequate for any of them to lead the State and in line with best practice globally, let us for example disregard where they come from and since political rotation is no more in Rivers State. What we still have is zoning of political offices. Following democratic tenets rightly or wrongly, the political parties have nominated them and whoever the majority wants will lead us in 2015. No matter how right the minorities might be, the majorities in most human societies are oppressors and have no regard for equity. Justice and equity only make sense to them when they are beneficial. The electorate however should know that their vote will determine their destiny. The informed electorate behavior will shape the behavior of those who will lead us in the future. We should not vote for a mafia or an one who thinks he is a super star. We need to ask ourselves the following questions before we enter the polling booth: 1. Who will better galvanize the state into one indivisible entity and provide developmental interventions without discrimination? 2. Who has more godfathers and political bedfellows that will leech away the scarce fund that should better be used to provide roads, improve the rail system, educate our people, and provide health services for the pregnant women, children and the elderly among other benefits? 3. Who will not compromise with friends that will execute poor contracts? 4. Who has greater leadership capacity? 5. Who will attract foreign partnership and not frustrate and pursue away the few partners on ground? 6. Who will not intimidate or frustrate the people who oppose, disagree or refuse to support him? 7. Who will deliberately or unknowingly through his actions encourage militancy, youth violence and general insecurity in the state? These are some of the issues we need to consider before we choose the next Governor for Rivers State.
