I know that because of my background....all of my HUGE mistakes...my wounded soul….I have many battles to fight for freedom and healing.....being healed is a war really....it is definitely something that you HAVE TO fight for....through the Lords power and strength we must endure much opposition and gain the victory...know matter how intense that it may be....I know this pain all to well…..my healing process and transformation is a very painful process to go through…It is not easy to face myself, my mistakes, my pain…..but I HAVE TO...I know that when we are severely wounded, it greatly impacts us and the way that we behave. This brokenness inside of me, if not healed, will continue to draw me to all manner of destructive behavior….but, thank God, one layer at a time, I am being healed and transformed…..but believe me if you want to be healed….you better grab on tight and get ready for the ride of your life….this roller coaster will throw you for some loops that you never expected…and at times you may think that you will never survive…but by Gods Grace we will…. There are broken places inside us if we have done any living at all…….and the Lord will allow us to fall into the same pits or traps over and over again until we finally have had enough of it and desire to change…… that’s where this verse comes in, “the limb which is lame may not be put out of joint, but rather be healed.” (Hebrews 12:13). The ‘lame thing’ is the broken part of us that the Lord desires to heal….that ‘lame thing’ is what is broken inside of us that continues to get us into trouble…..The Lord is looking down deeper, past the destructive behavior…He is looking at your heart….your broken heart is what is causing you to do these things beloved….if we are wounded it can cause us to get into all manner of sin and destructive behaviors….but God can heal that wound for you and your new healed heart will live and act differently!!! I promise you that beloved.. “Watch over your heart with all diligence, for out of it flows the springs of life.” (Proverbs 4:23). God is concerned with the heart—the well spring of life— we tend to focus on the externals of behavior rather than the internal flow of the heart. We tend to worry more about the “what” of behavior than the “why”. Accordingly, most of us spend an enormous amount of energy in controlling and constraining behavior. To the degree and extent to which our focus is on behavior, we miss the heart. (Tripp, p. xi). When one misses the heart issues, they miss opportunities to see the power of the gospel, driving us to the cross, and having us see for ourselves our greatest need is the grace that God provides. “We do not have a great high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who has been tempted in all things as we are, yet without sin. Therefore let us draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” (Hebrews 4:15-16)…..Did you read that beloved? Jesus understands why we do what we do, and He knows how hard it is and how much it hurts….He loves you and wants to show mercy to you and give you grace to overcome this!! The central focus is the gospel, Jesus died and bore our sins on the cross….. He did that so that we can have a new life, forgiven….set free…..and we need to see that God works from the inside out. (Tripp, 2005, p. xxii). He is concerned with your heart! We must understand why we sin and how to recognize internal change…… The gospel enables us to face the worst in ourselves—sin, badness, and weakness—and still find hope, because grace is powerful. (Tripp, p. xxii). Oh the relief when we find a place of repentance, where our hearts are broken over our offense against God…… and then being able to take it straight to the cross and receive God’s grace and mercy to enable us to become more than we could ever think or imagine……You have not sinned yourself into a place where God will not forgive you! I promise you beloved that is a lie from the enemy! Jesus Christ is right there with you! Ask Him to forgive you and help you….I promise you that He will…. When a wounding goes deep, the healing needs to go deep as well, and sometimes that is a very painful process. Jesus came to ‘bind up our broken hearts’ (Isaiah 61:1-4)…binding is a process and it takes time and experiences with the Word through the ministry of the Holy Spirit to be healed……. and we can’t expect that if we have been delivered from a life of total depravity, that the effects of that will just automatically disappear. If and when we slip and fall into sin again, He can sanctify that broken part of us and redeem it for His glory...If we truly have a heart for God we will NOT want to stay in that place of disobedience for long...we will want to be free and in fellowship with the Lord....sometimes in order for us to be healed and set free we have to experience the sting of sin over and over until we finally hate it and desire to live in freedom and victory over it....Please know that from my own brokenness and defeats that the Lord has brought about my greatest changes and victories. “That which you sow does not come to life unless it dies.” (1 Corinthians 15:36) We HAVE TO go through these ugly times to get to the beautiful ones...when we go through a fiery trial and we see that ugly part of ourselves that comes to the surface...REJOICE....that the Lord is at work in you! Take yourself straight to the cross and ask Him to forgive you and transform and heal that broken place, that bondage, that lie that you are believing...and He will forgive you and cleanse you...He will change you and give you freedom over it!! It may take falling back into it a time or two or even more but when you come to the place where you are truly ready to be free from it and had enough of living in defeat...His power will come in supernaturally through the ministry of the Word of God ministered to you by the Holy Spirit and transform you...do not give up! He loves you so very much and He will never fail you nor forsake you...no matter how bad that things may look...God loves you and He is for you.. We know that For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through the endurance taught in the Scriptures and the encouragement they provide we might have hope. (Romans 15:4)....so in looking at the Old Testament stories through that light, we see that they were possessing a tangible piece of land, but we are actually possessing a spiritual inheritance and land right here in our every day experiences with the Lord....we are being changed from glory to glory (2 Cor. 3:18) in our trials, and it is in that change that we are possessing more and more spiritual ground...:) Possession of spiritual blessings, territory, HEALING.FREEDOM, and WHOLENESS... and living in a good productive land spiritually speaking... are very biblical principles that require work to establish and hold in place. It all starts with our God-given desire for a better life, and the God-given faith to believe that it is attainable. But get ready.... it is a war..... In establishing boundaries, possessing territory, and being healed....there are many skirmishes, battles, disputes and losses. (Dr. John Townsend, and Dr. Henry Cloud, 1992, p. 315)....our battle is not against flesh and blood. and we MUST HAVE on the full armor of God. (Ephesians 6)...we WILL HAVE TO fight some..... Giants. Lions. Tigers and Bears....to be able to take this territory...but the Victory and Battle is the Lords...He will do it through us.... Our hands are being trained for war and our fingers for battle. (Psalm 144:1)...we are in process of learning to wield the Sword of the Spirit, which is the powerful Word of God. (Ephesians 6)....and in that process with extreme enemy forces coming against us in an intense battle....we are learning about God, His Word, we are cultivating a STRONG RELATIONSHIP WITH HIM PERSONALLY, and we are being healed and transformed by the renewing of our minds (Romans 12:2), through the washing of the water of the Word of God. These intense battles solidify these Truths in our hearts and minds....YOU push through this...Pressing into the Lord and burying your face in His Word....He WILL give you the VICTORY...You can fight this BEAR through the Lords power and when you gain the victory over it you will not believe who you are and how much that you have changed, through the power and ministry of the Holy Spirit ministering the Word of God to you....and then you will KNOW HIM, not just what you have heard about Him....but you will KNOW HIM (Philippians 3:10)...and to know Him is to love Him and be loved by Him....♥ This is the exact spot where I am right now...I am currently in a WAR with possibly all three....A Goliath, A Lion and A Bear....it is real...and it is intense....and at times it feels like life or death.....but I know the Lord is allowing it to bring about something good...but I really need your prayers.....when I am writing this....I can see that I am writing it to encourage my own heart...to preach it to my own heart....to not give up hope in the midst of this warfare.... The idea of spiritual warfare is not new. For thousands of years, God has given people the choice of living lives of ruin, or possessing what he has secured for them. And it has always involved battles. (Dr. Henry Cloud, and Dr. John Townsend, p. 315). “They will rebuild the ancient ruins, they will raise up the former devastations; and they will repair the ruined cities, the desolations of many generations.” (Isaiah 61:4). For many families they have been living in bondage to Egypt for many generations, and then our glorious Savior steps in and “proclaims liberty to the captive, and freedom to the prisoners.” (Isaiah 61:1). He can raise up one person to change the tide. “Do not call to mind the former things, or ponder things of the past. Behold I will do something new.” (Isaiah 43:18-19). This act changes everything. When He led the Israelites out of Egypt toward the Promised Land, they had to fight many battles and learn numerous lessons before they could possess the land. (Dr. John Townsend, and Dr. Henry Cloud, p. 316). We have to fight for our healing as well. God has secured our salvation and our sanctification. In the position and principle he has healed us. But we have to ‘work out’ His image in us (Philippians 2:12-13; 3:10; Romans 8:29; Romans 6:3-6), knowing that God is at work in us both to will and to work for His good pleasure. Being able to pass down this spiritual inheritance to the next generation is life-changing grace. It is WORTH the War... And THE MOST AMAZING thing is that, it is during these times of heated battle with the enemy, that I MOST SEE The Lord....It is during these wars that He feeds me with manna supernaturally, and water from a flinty rock...He speaks to me through everything that I pick up and see...He is so vivid and ALIVE to me during these battles...so faithful to let me know that He is with me and encourage my heart for my journey....I WOULD NOT TRADE these moments for anything.....they are so precious to me.... So take heart mighty warrior... And press in to the Lord and His Word.. “Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the law my servant Moses gave you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, that you may be successful wherever you go. Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful. Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” (Joshua 1) I Love you..:) Deena...
