I know that my brain doesnt work like most ppl. Sometimes, Im happy for that. I had a co-worker of mine ask me if my fiancee had the ring I got her appraised. The convo went something like this: Her: I see your girl is all proud of her ring. Its really nice. Me: Thx, she loves it. Her: did she have it appraised. Me: *German Shepard head tilt* Me: why would she do that? Her: To see how much you love her. If a man gives you a cheap ring, he doesnt really love you. Me:*blank stare* SO LET ME GET THIS STRAIGHT!!!! If a man commits to you, his love for the rest of his life, buys a house for you and your kids, moves you across the country to be with him, he MIGHT love you. But the ring doesnt cost what YOU feel it should cost. He doesnt really love you? GTFOH Her: Im just saying... if he really loves you, hell save up his money and get you a REALLY nice ring. Me: *face palm* OK, heres the thing (channeling my inner Frank Davis). The second you assign a dollar amount to something given in love, you have completely destroyed the value of that thing. He may as well just throw $10k at you. Her: Thats not a bad idea. I got bills.... Im just saying Me: And THATS why youve never been married......Im just saying Her: See. Thats just like a man. You must have given her a cheap ring. Me: It was imported and hand crafted from India.... 2.5 ct black diamond in a titanium ring. They made it specifically for HER (using black and white diamonds, symbolizing her black and white heritage). *chucks deuces*
